An Award-winning Juried Publication of Works of Contemporary Photography & Photo-based Art
INPHA is not a gallery exhibition. It does not require shipping works to Manifest. It is an award-winning non-profit hardcover publication with cash awards.
INPHA is open to a very broad range of lens-based and photographic submissions. This is not just for 'photographers' and 'photography' but also for anyone working creatively in a visual art (or design) field with work that incorporates the lens or photographic process in some significant way, including manipulated and mixed processes.
As with all Manifest projects, we are open to learning just what's being done that fits within this broad scope.

The goal of Manifest's annual international publication of contemporary photography is to support the recognition, documentation, and publication of excellent, current, and relevant photographic art on an ongoing annual basis. In 2012 INPHA became the third in a suite of Manifest books charting contemporary art around the world. In early 2013 the INPHA 1 received a bronze medal award in the 2013 IPPY Book Awards in New York City (Photography category) from the Independent Publisher Association. In 2019 the INPHA 5 received another bronze medal award in the 2019 IPPY Book Awards (Photography category). The INPHA joined the International Painting Annual and award winning International Drawing Annual as a major new product of Manifest Press. This project represents a further expression of Manifest's unique process for assembling diverse and compelling multi-national projects, as well as its commitment to a wide variety of methods for creative visual expression. For this call for submissions Manifest is eager to receive works in a wide range of types, including traditional, digital, and experimental photography, and other lens-based work*. As with its other book projects, Manifest is open to unexpected solutions, broad interpretation, and surprise. Works submitted must clearly feature the photographic/lens-based process as a primary, but not necessarily exclusive, characteristic.
